Pink eye knowledge

I know I haven't posted in a while. I got sick. I have a cold that started in my eye. Weird I know but my kids had the cold first and one night I rubbed my eyes because of my allergy to our dog and the next morning I had pink eye. Not the goopy bacterial pink eye just annoying viral pink eye. It's crazy until last year I didn't know there was different types of pink eye.
So the one that little kids catch the most is bacterial pink eye, conjunctivitis. All of my kids had it last year it was horrible. They had never had it before and it jumped from one kid to the next. It was awful. Dark pink or red eyes and the gooey snot and puss like discharge. Very painful very yucky. I don't have that.
I most likely have viral because of other symptoms I have. The lymph node in front of my right ear is swollen. (My right eye has the pink eye.) I have a sore throat and my kids have a small cold with cough. I don't have the thick white to green discharge of the bacterial infection I have very watery discharge. My eye won't stop crying.
The other pink eye I might have instead of viral would be allergic because it all started when I rubbed my eye after playing with my dog. The symptoms of allergic and viral are pretty similar. One thing they share is the watery eyes. Also they both can be itchy. I am not sure which one it is but there isn't much I can do about either. The only prescription for pink eye is for an antibiotic which is for the bacterial conjunctivitis.
Lol so I went to the doctors yesterday for a different reason. I mentioned to the nurse that I have pink eye but it wasn't the bacterial one. I have had that one before a lot as a child, I know how it feels and looks and I know this isn't that. I saw the doctor about the other reason I was there and at the end of the appointment he told me he noticed my pink eye and wrote me a prescription.
I checked the prescription later ( I didn't fill it) and it was the antibiotic. I got mad because he never examine it, just jumped to conclusions. Did you know taking antibiotics when you don't need them can cause them to become less effective. That's not good if you eventually will need them.
So if you or your child develops pink eye, do a little research before assuming the doctor will do his. If you go the doctors for pink eye make sure he or she actually examines the eye. Don't just trust they know better than you. I'm just encouraging that people know about the common illness, and ailments in case there is more than one lazy doctor out there.

Here is a helpful image I got from Kinsight, Inc.

Just protect yourself and family from taking medicine you don't need.

Also, I posted in my other blogs Writing and Art. A few days ago. If I don't post very much it because I'm sick or working on my art. Stay healthy.

Holidaze

I know I haven't posted in a few days. I'm in a bit of a holidaze. Thanksgiving was crazy. I cooked for 6 + hours, then left for my mother in laws for a few hours. Then waking up at 5 am for black Friday shopping. It was the first year that it was 5 of me and my sisters. Normally it's 3 or less. It was a great day. I got a lot of shopping done for my kids. I am attempting the 4 gift rule. Something they want,  something they need, something to wear and something to read. I got almost all of the needs. I did get all of the wear and read. I decided to do the wants with my hubby. I also bought them all pj's in case my mom can't. I am adding a gift to the 4 gift rule. I'm adding one from Santa. My sister accused me of feeding the lie. Well yes. Yes I  will. I want my kids to have the ability to have hope, faith and belief in something they can't see, hear, touch, or smell. I think it's good to have faith in something regardless of religious beliefs.
I am not planning on buying an of my other family gifts. Like last year I hope to paint them all something. So if I miss a few days of posting here or there it's because I'm really trying to get them done. So until my next post I wish you all luck in your holidaze of holidays.

Busy baker

I know I didn't post anything yesterday. I spent all of Sunday on my feet making chili and about 10 batches of dough. Pizza dough, roll dough, cinnamon roll dough. I still have to make bread. Anyway I woke up super early yesterday and made cinnamon rolls for my kids before they left to school. Then I had a doc appointment for my now three year old . I went to the store with him and decided to make him his birthday cake. I also bought 3 other cake mixes because I still owed 3 of my older kids birthday cakes. It has been painfully pinched these last few months. So I made 4 birthday cakes yesterday. We sang happy birthday four times in a row. My three year old was so adorable and sweet allowing the other siblings to have their turns blowing out their candles. I am so blessed for my amazing son. So I have been very busy baking and experiencing the speed of life. It is going by faster and faster I don't think I can keep up sometimes.
This morning I had a doctor's appointment with my daughter. I can't believe she's 10. Were did my life go? It was cool sitting in the exam room where we were waiting a very long time. She just was talking to me about her stories she writes and the pictures she draws. She asked me about my book and how far I have written and I told her not very far. It was just so cool to have this moment with my daughter where instead of us being mom and daughter we were also peers on the same field. I might have more knowledge and practice in writing but we were equal. Giving each other advice. Never in my life could I have hoped for such an amazing person to call daughter. Even better we connect (for now). I love her so much.
Now I'm going to hang out with my sweet kids and watch movies. Eat some cake and cinnamon rolls. Hanging on to each moment.

INFP

Hey there, final day of personality and getting to know my personality and possibly getting to know yourself better. This is my absolute favorite personality test, like, ever. It is the

 Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®

You can learn a lot on the site

I like to go to 16personalities.com

and take the test. You should too. It takes 10-15 minutes.

Here is my results.

You are “The Mediator”.

Code:INFP-T
Role:Diplomat
Strategy:Constant Improvement
Mediators are poetic, kind and altruistic people, always eager to help a good cause.
INFP personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, INFPs have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the INFP personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.
This is just the first paragraph. If you would like to read more about the INFP personality then click here. http://www.16personalities.com/infp-personality
Go click the link above and take the test. It is so cool learning about your own personality and seeing how accurate it is.
So now you know a little more about me, and hopefully have learned something about yourself along the deep dive into our personalities.

Love language

So Thursday I began to write about personalities, mine specifically. Then yesterday I posted some more light and fun personality quiz's.  I guess next I want to talk about one I really love and I think if more people acknowledged not only their own but that of their loved ones that maybe people could get along better. I am talking about love language. My sister introduced me to this and I love it. I love how it analyses how you as a person see and perceive love and being loved.

There are 5 love languages which one are you? Go the the website and take the test!

Here is mine.

Your Scores

11Physical Touch
8Quality Time
6Words of Affirmation
3Acts of Service
2Receiving Gifts

Physical Touch

This language isn't all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face – they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive. Physical touch fosters a sense of security and belonging in any relationship.

So there is my love language. Click the link below to find out yours.

Tomorrow we will talk about my favorite personality test. It is so accurate it's amazing, and you will just have to see for yourself.

All in good fun

Hi again. Yesterday I began letting you in on my personality. Beginning with horoscopes and zodiac signs. There are so many other things that may or may not affect your personality like your birth month or your birth order to name a few. There isn't much to go on and some studies say they don't affect your personality enough to be a real source of affect. I suppose it's is simply if you believe in it or not. So all in good fun lets dive deeper. I went to some sites and found my type or took the quiz. These are my results. I have links below for you to find yours,

Birth order

The Firstborn
Stereotype: Natural leader, ambitious, responsible.
Why it’s true: The eldest, for a while, has no competition for time (or books or baby banter) with Mom and Dad. “There’s a benefit to all of that undiluted attention. A 2007 study in Norway showed that firstborns had two to three more IQ points than the next child,” says Frank J. Sulloway, Ph.D., the author ofBorn to Rebel. Firstborns tend to be surrogate parents when other siblings arrive, hence their protective and responsible nature.
When it’s not: Parents can set high expectations for a first (or only) child. “When he feels like he has disappointed his parents or can’t measure up, he may veer off in another direction,” says Kevin Leman, Ph.D., a psychologist and the author of The Birth Order Book.

Here is birth month.

Your Birth Month Says You're Intense

You are a natural leader who is able to stand up when no one else can.
Strong and powerful, you tend to overshadow those around you.

Your soul reflects: deep love, fascination with life, and a distinctive persona

It definitely seems like the birth month ones are taken from the zodiacs.

Then there is this added gem for fun

These are just three of the ever growing world of personality tests and journeys to self discovery.
Tomorrow is another personality test but I LOVE it. I can't wait to show more of the iceberg that is me.

The me today

Since I am re-starting my blog, I want to begin with introducing myself better. I have said many times in my previous posts that I have many sisters, many children. James is the love of my life. I mention my hobbies a lot. But that is all surface stuff, my ripples. I am so  much more than surface, there is more to me below the reflection in the water. I have a personality, dreams, goals, and fears.

I suppose the easiest thing to think about is my personality because without it the dreams, goals, and fears lack to exist. I love to talk about personality so over the next few days I will let you in my world and mind one stepping stone at a time.

Many people don't believe in horoscopes but many more do and it's astonishing how accurate they can be. So lets begin here in my horoscope, and my sign. If nothing else they are fun.

Daily Horoscope: Capricorn

Capricorn Sun Sign - Zodiac Signs

BY ASTROLOGY.COM NOVEMBER 20, 2009 03:50 PM EST

Capricorn, the tenth sign of the zodiac, is all about hard work. Those born under this sign are more than happy to put in a full day at the office, realizing that it will likely take a lot of those days to get to the top. That's no problem, since Capricorns are both ambitious and determined: they will get there. Life is one big project for these folks, and they adapt to this by adopting a businesslike approach to most everything they do. Capricorns are practical as well, taking things one step at a time and being as realistic and pragmatic as possible. The Capricorn-born are extremely dedicated to their goals, almost to the point of stubbornness. Those victories sure smell sweet, though, and that thought alone will keep Capricorns going.

Moments

Hi. It has been a very long time since I last posted. Long enough to be pregnant again and have baby turn one. Yep . I had another one. I am at 7. Lol I wasn't planning on it but I am so glad. I wouldn't change anything about my life no matter how hard or stressful it gets. Life kind of ran away with me.

In the last 21 months my hair got super long and I had to chop it all off again, I haven't lost any weight since my last post (obviously) man does post-baby weight suck or what? Any way the kids are all growing SO much I can't blink anymore or they'll be grown and gone.
My oldest, JS, started middle school and now is a full fledged angsty preteen, only things he likes is video games, and his phone lately. My second, ME, is growing into such a beautiful young lady, just turned 10 this week. So excited to have her party this weekend. My third, JT, is getting more and more mischievous every day, there is a sweet side deep down inside him hopefully some one-on-one time will help that side come out more.  My fourth, TR, began school, and is just so bright and fun. He doesn't like how first grade takes him away longer, he misses me a lot. My fifth, ID, is going to start school next year she is so excited. Their aunt came back home after 19 months of not seeing her (on a mission) and she is much more happy now. My sixth, WR, is getting big so fast, loves sports. We are going to attempt potty training this week ahhh. And finally my seventh, ZE, she is so beautiful and getting big. She is walking and talking (the best she can) and just a little ball of fun and energy.

Also our fur family has grown. We have had one ferret named Sephiroth for almost 3 years now and I just love him. This year I got a sweet calico cat and we named her Calipso, my husband bought me a baby ferret for our anniversary, she is so beautiful her name is Jenova. A few months ago we bought a golden retriever puppy. We named him Atreyu, he is ... energetic, but he is really growing on me.

I got to have a snow day yesterday with my little ones. Which is unusual because our school district has the reputation of sending kids to school in 2+ feet of snow. It was fun and I am glad I got the opportunity to have quality time with my babies without having to be the grouchy mom over chores and homework. For one moment it was just me and my kids, and I could be me.

I have decided to start another blog entirely just for my writing. That is momyliawriting.blogspot.com. Mostly for practice to see myself grow. I have also started one to do a photo journal and my art, momyliaphotosandart.blogspot.com. I picked up painting in the summer of 2014 and I have been addicted since then. It'll be some time before I get anything posted on these, but I will. I still love video games. I still crochet and one day I will figure out knitting.

Life is just so great even with all of the sadness going on the world. I am truly blessed. I have many struggles but I am free, alive and well. I am so thankful for that. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people who lost their lives, were wounded, lost loved ones or who witnessed all of the terrible acts happening across the world. Hopefully someday we will all know peace. One day at a time, one moment at a time. I am so thankful for every moment and every snow day.

To quote a movie I love . "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." -Ferris Beuller

It is so nice to be back to my blog and I can't wait to post more.
